Another tid-bit of knowledge my dad was regularly repeating was the phrase “Work smarter, not harder.”
At the time it just seemed that he was meaning to use tools to make the task easier rather than relying on brute strength… admittedly I relied on brute strength a lot in my younger years, sometimes still.
But these days, when it comes to tediously repetitive tasks at my job, I have found ways to streamline things by letting Excel do most of the legwork for me cutting down on the amount of time I need to spend on a task. This isn’t something I advertise at work, because they will just give me more things to manage, but it gives me the opportunity to work on making more of my obligations more efficient and take on other tasks as I see fit.
Just another thing I tend to incorporate into life.
