After realizing that very little seems to be reported on the plethora of executive orders that continue to stream out of the white house, I’ve been making it a daily habit to see what has newly signed. 2 of the following are executive orders, the other 2 are proclamations.
“In carrying out this memorandum, the heads of agencies shall seek efficient use of existing personnel and funds to improve public services and the delivery of those services.” So essentially he is stripping agencies of their workforce and much of their funding but telling them they still need to meet the same standards.
It feels like he is gearing up for another revolutionary war with the misguided impression that he somehow fighting against tyranny, while in reality he is the one being the tyrant.
Both of these last 2 items were highlighted by The Hill in an article titled Trump opens national marine monument to commercial fishing by Rachel Frazin where it was highlighted that the action of opening this area to commercial fishing further threatens the coral reef and its inhabitants beyond the ever present climate change threats. The president in his order and proclamation, argues that the species that this monument aimed to protect are migratory in nature… but coral reefs don’t migrate, they are a living ecosystem.
